Rental Coordinator
(Full-Time, Permanent)

Mission: Banff Housing Corporation provides and manages a diverse range of quality rental units and equity-restricted & price-restricted homes for residents and retirees of Banff National Park

The Banff Housing Corporation (BHC) is an arms length corporation, owned solely by the Town of Banff. As Rental Coordinator, you are responsible for the management of the BHC’s rental portfolio. There are currently 133 units, consisting of studio, one-, and two-bedroom layouts.

This position works in collaboration with the Lead Maintenance and BHC Operations Supervisor, to assess, prioritize, and respond to all aspects of building maintenance and rental operations. The key areas of responsibility include building, tenant, financial and lease management.

You are an experienced and dedicated rental coordinator prepared oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of our rental portfolio. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for our residents ensuring the efficient management of the BHC’s rental properties and resources, and community affairs. Your work experience in property management has forged a foundation of knowledge and allowed you opportunities to effectively blend the characteristics of assertiveness with empathy.

You are able to demonstrate your qualifications in the following:

Bachelor's degree in property management, business, or a related field is preferred.
Certification in property management or cooperative management is an asset.
Proven experience in property management, especially in a rental or community housing setting with a minimum of 5 years of experience, including:.
Working knowledge of Alberta Residential Tenancy Act and relevant legislation.
Understanding of building repairs and maintenance, including preventative maintenance plans.
Working with concurrent priorities and meeting expectation of timely delivery of objectives.
Fundamental financial management practices, including operational and capital budgets.
Interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis problem solving and resolution of tenant, contractor issues.
Oral, written, and in-person communication and correspondence is professional.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and working knowledge of property management software and tools.
Varied work locations and scheduling that spans 7 days/week and non-traditional business hours.
Familiarity of the Banff Housing Corporate mandate and operational services to community of Banff.
Requires valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers licence and can produce a clear driver’s abstract on hire.
Bondable, can provide a RCMP criminal background check with vulnerable sector clearance on hire.
