Administration & Banquet Department
Sunshine Village is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to serve as the face of our Convention Department. This role involves working closely with conveners from start to finish, ensuring that their vision for events is met and exceeded. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and event management, with a proven track record in guest service and operations.

Key Responsibilities:Guest Interaction:
Serve as the main point of contact for guests booking functions and special events in banquet spaces and restaurant facilities.
Respond promptly to phone calls and emails to book events efficiently.
Meet with guests to tour banquet facilities and finalize contract details.
Ensure guests sign banquet/event orders and complete the necessary paperwork for payment (credit card forms, credit applications, deposits).
Event Coordination:
Submit proposals and estimates for banquet events.
Complete banquet event orders and floor plans.
Create and manage group bookings for events requiring rooms and meeting space, including meetings, teams, conferences, and weddings.
Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate special menus and requests.
Ensure all departments within the hotel have access to contracts to fulfill terms in a timely manner.
Prepare printed signage for banquet rooms and update the Event Calendar for screens at the front desk.
Communication:
Maintain open communication with the front desk, sales, restaurant, and groups team members to share pertinent information.
Create and send weekly function summaries to all departments and tenants of the hotel.
Financial Management:
Present monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts and budgets.
Generate revenue by creating events and booking entertainment on "need" dates.
Market Analysis and Outreach:
Conduct market studies of competitors, including pricing, menus, and promotions, to ensure Sunshine Village remains competitive.
Attend industry-related events and tradeshows as a representative of Sunshine Village.
Actively research and reach out to different companies and organizations to find business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Diploma or equivalent in Hospitality Management.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality, restaurant, and event management.
At least 1 year of management experience.
Excellent customer/guest service skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Additional Considerations:
Presence is required at large functions and hotel events.
Employees must always exhibit sound judgment and professionalism.
This position handles confidential information and requires a high level of discretion.
This role involves working at high altitudes and, at times, in inclement weather, requiring appropriate physical fitness.
