Interior Bus Detailer


The Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission (BVRTSC) is looking to add full-time and part-time Interior Bus Detailers to our team. We bring mobility to both visitors and residents looking to enjoy the Bow Valley without the use of a private vehicle. Position Summary

Under the direction of the Wash Bay Supervisor or Interior Bus Detailer Lead Support this multi-functional position is responsible for various aspects of cleaning. This may include but is not limited to the interior of buses, the wash bay, the interior of the administrative portion of the building, and some outdoor cleaning. This position may also include operation of the buses or the automatic exterior bus washer if the candidate has the appropriate drivers license (AB Class 1,2, or 3). Cleaning duties may include but are not limited to interior sweeping/mopping of the bus, sanitizing of buses using medical grade fogging machines, emptying of fareboxes, cleaning windows, detailing drivers’ area, and wash bay sweeping. Roam Transit operates 7 days a week, Interior Bus Detailers are required nightly and are essential to the success of Roam Transit . Shifts will be scheduled based on operational needs and employee availability. Shifts start at 6:00PM and end between approximately 1:30 and 2:30AM. This position is a great starting point at Roam, those who are committed, reliable, and show good work ethic may get the opportunity to grow with Roam and receive training to upgrade their license to become a transit operator or move into other positions.


Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitizing of all Roam buses and general upkeep of the entire indoor storage area.
Ensure all work is being completed in a safe and responsible manner
Communicate regularly with the Wash Bay Supervisor to ensure all tasks are completed according to priority
Responsible for sweeping and mopping of all busses
Responsible for removal of all garbage from busses
Ensure all high touch areas are sanitized
Assist with washing all bus windows
Work with Wash Bay Supervisor to ensure garage floors and indoor storage area are regularly cleaned and maintained
Assist with emptying of fareboxes from buses into secure storage facility (no direct access to cash required).
Additional duties as required by Wash Bay Supervisor or Operations Staff.

Qualifications/Education

High school diploma
AB Class 1,2, or 3 license an asset

Experience

Working independently or under minimal supervision.
Working as a part of a team
Working in a physically demanding job requiring some moderate lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling etc.
Cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
Large vehicle operation experience considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High attention to detail and quality
Knowledge of key safety principles relating to cleaning and working around large machinery
Ability to work within a team environment
Ability to work independently
Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy items up to 50lbs (infrequently).
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent time management and organizational skills
