Job Description

Working in the Hotel Grounds department, the Holiday Decorator ensures our Christmas décor is displayed and maintained throughout the hotel ensuring our property exceeds our guests’ expectations. This position requires a lot of physical labour that involves carrying heavy boxes of decorations in/out of storage in an attic located up four flights of stairs and standing on your feet all day long. Everyone working holiday decorations must be very comfortable working at the top of very tall ladders. Holiday Decoration colleagues are also required to assist snow removal by shoveling especially during winter storms. In this position there is a structured schedule where you will have specific days off at certain times.

This position begins at the end of October and finishes mid-January.

Job Duties Include:

Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service
Collect and transport decorations from storage (carrying heavy boxes up & down four flights of stairs) to final locations throughout the hotel
Hanging lights/decorations within the hotel and in outdoor areas with the focus on aesthetics using 18’ tall ladders
Setting up fake and live trees
Ensuring guest room trees are decorated and delivered on time
Assisting with snow removal as required
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Previous experience with Christmas Décor in a hospitality/retail setting is an asset
Must have Class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract in good standing
Constant standing and walking throughout shift and must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70+ lbs.
Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions (snow, heat, rain).
