Welcome! The Banff Park Lodge Hotel Collective operates 3 hotel properties, Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge, and Peaks Hotel & Suites. Within the Banff Park Lodge property, we operate 2 restaurants, La Terrazza and Crave Mountain Grill. Thank you for your interest in joining our team as Guest Services / Front Office Manager at Bow View Lodge. As the department head, you will oversee the operations of the Front Office to help deliver memorable experiences to our guests.

The salary will be negotiated based on experience.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Assisting and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Front Office with a strong focus on maintaining a high level of guest services, room sales and overall profitability.
Handling of guest comments and concerns, ensuring all guest needs are met.
To show leadership to the Front Desk staff on duty, overseeing the coaching, developing and performance management of our Guest Services Supervisor and Guest Services Agents.
Organize regular Front Office meetings to provide important updates to the team.
Efficient scheduling of all Front Office staff, adding schedule to payroll system, approving staff timecards.
Responsible for billing and reconciling of guest ledger and city ledger accounts.
Support fully inclusive environment through team activities to improve teamwork.
To ensure the well-being and safety of our guests, coworkers, contractors, etc. on property.
Being familiar with emergency procedures to effectively deal with an emergency/crisis’s situations at the hotel.
Adhere to our hotel policies and standards.
Contribute to maximizing room sold and revenues by monitoring last minute competitor’s rates and making rate and restriction adjustments as necessary.
Gaining knowledge of Oracle PMS and other tools required for the operation of the hotel.
Championing adoption of technology and staff engagement with available tools including, but not limited to: Revinate, TripTease, IDeaS, and others.
Perform Revenue Management day-to-day tasks by monitoring hotel rates, competitors’ rates, reviewing IDeaS RMS forecasts and decisions, applying and monitoring overrides
To communicate and aid other departments like the Banff Park Lodge and Peaks Hotel & Suites, Housekeeping, Reservations, etc. as needed.
This position is required to work shifts (mornings and evenings) including weekends.
Other duties as required.
Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 1-2 years’ previous hotel front desk or reservation experience required.
Previous supervisory experience is required, previous manager experience is an asset.
Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail.
Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone.
Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests.
Has experience working with Microsoft Office.
