We are a very active tourist business with several components that make up the overall company. Because of the diversity of the company, we can offer a great variety of products to our visitors, as well as a variety of job opportunities. Whether you are craving a summer of adventure, are looking to improve your horsemanship skills or a combination of both while making life long friends and memories, Banff Trail Riders is the place for you! As a driver for Carriages and Wagons during the summer months, you will be expected to provide guests with a detailed tour of the townsite of Banff, and the National Park. Carriages will operate in amongst traffic so safety is paramount, as is the welfare of our animals. You will be grooming, harnessing and caring for our heavy draft horses with our driving team. The Cowboy Cookout wagon experience, requiring you to drive 2 horses provides a relaxing 3 hour journey along the Bow River and includes a meal. Drivers for Banff Trail Riders are expected to assist with the entertainment and assist our Cooks as required. This position will require you to: Groom and harness draft horses. Driving a single horse carriage throughout the town of Banff. Driving narrative teamster wagon along the Bow River to a remote cookout location. Clean and maintain carriages/wagons and gear. Various barn duties and chores. Interact with guests in a fun professional manner. Qualifications: Horse driving experience preferred, but training can be provided if necessary. Must be comfortable and confident working with draft horses. Customer service experience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well with others and independently. Takes initiative and is safety conscious at all times. An interest in the western lifestyle. Valid First Aid and Drivers License required. Staff accommodation is available!
