Job Overview: The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for providing a memorable experience for guests that exceeds their expectations. They must be familiar with and train staff on emergency, safety, and security procedures. In the absence of the manager, the Banquet Supervisor must supervise the efficient and profitable operation of the department while adhering to the environmental mission statement for waste reduction, water reduction, and energy consumption.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

Arrive for shifts on time, with a professional appearance and a positive attitude.
Maximize revenue while controlling expenses, especially labor and food and beverage costs.
Provide corrective discipline to personnel as required and create a positive, productive team atmosphere.
Ensure public areas and function spaces are clean and organized and report any maintenance issues.
Provide "hands-on" assistance as needed to expedite service and meet with event planners to address any requests promptly.
Maintain working knowledge of Lightspeed functions for accurate computation and posting of guest function bills.
Take care of hotel equipment and supplies by using them as designed, storing them securely, and reporting any deficiencies.
Work cooperatively and effectively with all staff to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve conflicts in favor of the guest's needs.

Ideal Candidate/Job Requirements:

Has a minimum of 1 year of food and beverage/catering supervisor experience
Alberta Pro Serve certificate is required
Flexible schedule required
Must be physically cable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
Has a dynamic personality and excellent customer service skills
Shows strong leadership, interpersonal skills and brings in a positive attitude
