What you will be doing as Front Desk Agent

You’ll need some prior Front Desk experience; we’ll train you up on our Property Management system, and your prior system experience will be a key asset you bring with you. You’ll need to be a quick learner and bring your willingness to learn – you'll need to quickly become an expert on all things to do with the hostel, the town and the Park, as guests will turn to you for answers on everything.

You’ll need to bring your positive energy, smile and ability to handle high workloads and stressful moments with aplomb. An understanding of service recovery and experience handling and resolving guest complaints effectively is part of our ethos here. We’re always looking for people who are looking to grow within the industry. Most of our promotions are from within; most of our Assistant General Managers and Managers in our hostel network started as Front Desk Agents.

If everything you read above got you excited, you'll be a great fit for our team. Whether you're on a working holiday and this will be a short stop on a longer trip, or you're looking to stay connected to the hostel lifestyle by working among travellers, this is the kind of place for you.

Our team is made up of people from all over the world who are bound by our shared desire to discover new places. You recognize that what draws you to Banff is what draws our guests here, and you're committed to working with a team of like-minded people to share the best of Banff and the accessibility of travel with the world.

About HI

We love travelling. To us, travel isn’t just about going places, it’s also about meeting people, discovering cultures, eating new food and most of all, learning how people do things differently than we do back home.

We believe that through hostelling, we become more conscious about the world around us; and we can even make the world a better place. Our mission is to build a community of conscious travellers who share a greater understanding of people, places and cultures through our network of hostels and people.
