Department: Housekeeping

Position: Laundry Attendant

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor and Laundry Supervisor

Position Responsibilities:

Safely operate the washing machine, dryer and other machines
Follow instructions and procedures given by Laundry Supervisor
Separate laundry to be washed in house and to be sent out for cleaning
Follow Health and Safety rules and guidelines at all times
Sort all linen before wash cycle
Treat stained linen
Ensure proper stock levels of cleaning supplies
Fold bed sheets, pillowcases, towels, etc.
Organize linen carts and stock linen closets for Room Attendants
Report any maintenance issues to your Manager or Supervisor
Assist as Room Attendant when required
Help house person with cleaning of public areas
Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the laundry and linen rooms
Perform other related duties as required by the Housekeeping Manager
Qualifications:

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Ability to perform well in team setting and to work well when alone

· Good cross cultural communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

· Ability to effectively communicate in both one on one and group settings.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to frequently walk, stand or stoop

· Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

· Speech, hearing, literacy, and vision

· Ability to tolerate extreme weather conditions

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
