Job Description Rundle Bar at Fairmont Banff Springs is hiring a Lead Mixologist to be responsible for the development and creation of all specialty drinks / cocktails. The Lead Mixologist takes pride knowing that every drink that leaves their bar is crafted with integrity and has a story. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $20.87 What you will be doing: Lead the creation, execution, and evolution of Rundle Bar’s specialty cocktail program, developing unique, high-quality drinks that reflect the venue’s story, style, and guest preferences. Prepare and present alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, creativity, and consistency, ensuring exceptional quality, visual appeal, and adherence to established recipes and standards. Deliver outstanding guest experiences by engaging with patrons, anticipating preferences, and providing personalized recommendations in alignment with Forbes and LQA service standards. Train, coach, and mentor bartenders by sharing mixology expertise, product knowledge, and service excellence while supporting ongoing development and consistency across the team. Oversee bar operations, including inventory management, ordering, cost control, cleanliness, and compliance with EHC, safety, cash handling, and operational procedures. Collaborate with culinary and leadership teams on menu development, cocktail and food pairings, seasonal offerings, and special initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Several years of bartending experience with strong knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, wine, beer, classic and contemporary cocktails, and mixology techniques. Proven ability to develop innovative drinks with meticulous attention to measurement, garnishing, and visual presentation. Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and engaging confidently with diverse clientele. ProServe certification required; strong understanding of responsible beverage service and local alcohol regulations; prior experience with point-of-sale systems. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
