Job Description

As a Host, you are the heartbeat of the guest experience. As the first and final impression of the space, you set the tone by welcoming guests, managing reservations, and intuitively guiding the flow, energy, and transitions of the venue throughout the day and into the evening. Your warmth, organization, and attention to detail ensure every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and eager to return.

Start Date: May/June 2026
Contract Type: Seasonal and Full-Time available
Pay Rate: $16.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Guest Welcome & First Impressions

Welcome guests with warmth, confidence, and genuine hospitality from the moment they arrive.
Manage guest arrivals, departures, and seating with intention, ensuring every interaction feels personal and polished.
Create a calm, welcoming atmosphere during both high-volume and intimate service periods.
Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for guests throughout their experience.
Reservations, Flow & Room Rhythm

Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-in flow using reservation systems and real-time floor awareness.
Coordinate closely with servers and bartenders to ensure smooth pacing and balanced service.
Monitor dining room and bar energy, supporting seamless transitions between dayparts and evening service.
Anticipate pressure points and adjust seating and timing to maintain a relaxed, intentional guest experience.
Communication & Coordination

Communicate key guest information clearly to the team, including VIPs, regulars, special occasions, and requests.
Support service teams by sharing real-time updates on flow, timing, and guest expectations.
Act as a connector between guests and the floor team, ensuring needs are acknowledged and met promptly.
Standards, Organization & Presentation

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual standards of the host stand, lobby, and entry areas.
Uphold brand presentation, tone, and atmosphere at all times.
Provide informed guidance on menus, cocktails, and unique experiences, including the Listening Room.

Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect warmly with guests.
Calm, composed presence in fast-paced and evolving environments.
Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities at once.
Strong attention to detail and consistency in process and presentation.
Enthusiasm for hospitality and pride in being the face of the experience.
Bonus If You Bring

Familiarity with reservation systems and waitlist management.
Interest in growing into service, leadership, or guest experience roles.

Physical Demands

Continuous standing and walking throughout service periods.
Occasional bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 11lbs / 5kg).
Ability to remain composed and attentive during extended periods of guest interaction.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
