The Assistant General Manager supports the daily operation of the Laundry Division and provides steady leadership for staff and supervisors. You help keep the plant organized, safe and efficient. You back up the General Manager and maintain clear workflow, strong communication and consistent service for all properties. Your work keeps production smooth and ensures linens and amenities meet the standards expected by our hotels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support production, service, quality control and administration with clear direction and daily follow up.
Assist in carrying out strategic plans and operational goals set by the General Manager.
Manage the workflow, staffing and production data to keep operations efficient and cost effective.
Manage the employee schedule to respond to urgent needs and changes to workforce requirements.
Proactive communication with the hotel housekeeping teams.
Lead and support supervisors and staff. Promote teamwork and steady communication.
Assist with recruitment, hiring, training and performance management following company policies and labour standards.
Maintain strong quality and service levels by supporting staff on the floor and addressing issues in real time.
Help maintain strong relationships with hotels and the management team.
Follow and enforce health and safety rules and all regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities for improved processes, equipment use and safety.
Respond to email and phone requests in a timely manner.
Maintain HRIS items such as time sheets, onboarding, scheduling and employee files.
Review maintenance needs and arrange follow up with the appropriate teams.
Respond and troubleshoot urgent maintenance requirements
Support all stations on the plant floor when required.
Monitor inventory and support supply ordering.
Open or close the plant when required.
Share clear updates across all shifts to maintain steady workflow.
Skills and Experience:
Leadership experience in commercial laundry or a similar high-volume operation.
Strong communication with the ability to guide staff and support supervisors.
Solid organization and workload management with attention to detail.
Basic mechanical understanding and the ability to troubleshoot minor issues.
Strong computer skills including email, excel and Dayforce.
Knowledge of health and safety rules and labour standards.
Ability to work each station safely and at production speed.
Ability to stay focused under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.
Flexibility to adjust hours to support operational needs.
Class 5 license and ability to drive a large truck.
Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to stand and move throughout the full shift, lift items up to 50 pounds, and push or pull bins weighing up to 500 pounds. It also involves frequent bending, reaching, and carrying of linen bundles and other products. The position is performed in a warm, fast-paced production environment and requires the safe operation of all equipment.
