YWCA Banff is a community-based, feminist organization with over 100 years of experience in Banff and the Bow Valley. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, our organization shapes a safe, inclusive community that empowers women and girls in support of our vision of a thriving, equitable society. The YWCA is funded through grants, donor support and revenue from our social enterprise program – the YWCA Banff Hotel.

All employees play an instrumental role in realizing our organizational goals through their commitment to our four strategic priorities: programs and services to end gender-based violence; a continuum of sustainable housing solutions; advancing the rights of women and girls; and building a sustainable organization.

The primary role of the Wellness Coordinator is to develop and deliver employee wellness programs and interventions. Supporting healthier workplace environments, expanding work related resources and opportunities, preventing work related illness and injury, and reducing work related stress. They support the CEO to foster a healthy and vibrant workplace culture across the organization.

A Day in the Life

We are looking for a dynamic Wellness Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of wellness programs, employee initiatives, and organizational policies. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Wellness & Program Initiatives: Implement wellness strategies (yoga, meditation, training), lead inclusion initiatives, support HR policy reviews, and facilitate DISC profile engagement.
Employee Life Cycle: Manage recruitment, foster a positive workplace culture, oversee performance development, and lead employee engagement programs, including surveys, benefits education, and recognition initiatives.
Policy & Administration: Review and maintain policy manuals, audit employee records, and manage HR platforms.
Reporting: Monitor and report on people and culture goals, and contribute to organizational reports.
Committees & Events: Participate in internal committees, support event planning, and represent the organization at job fairs.
Health & Safety: Oversee health and safety programs, file WCB claims, chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and ensure compliance with OHS standards.

Qualifications & Experience
Specific skills and knowledge qualifications include but are not limited to:

Experience working with employee database software
Experience with UKG software considered an asset
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Experience and confidence in training and development
Strong alignment with YWCA values
Strong employee engagement and retention strategies
Leadership in delivering employee experience initiatives
Demonstrated experience in communication skills
Human Resource practice, knowledge, and understanding
Digital and data literacy skills an asset
Experience in delivering health, safety and wellness practices
Position Details

Wellness Coordinator is a full time, year-round position at 37.5 hours per week, with no direct reports.
