We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic event-planning professional to support our robust events schedule, serving diverse audiences and interests. Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Visitor Experience, the Events Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering all public and private programming at The Whyte. From exhibition openings and artist talks to workshops and donor events, the successful candidate will oversee the entire lifecycle of events—development, staffing, procurement, logistics, setup, and execution. Additionally, this role manages rentals of the museum grounds and Mason Hall. With a strong passion for creating engaging and meaningful programming, the Events Specialist will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and collaborative. This role requires flexibility, as work hours vary based on event schedules and include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the development, organization, and delivery of all public and private programming, including but not limited to exhibition openings, workshops, panel discussions, artist talks, donor events, annual events, and more. Ensure alignment of events with The Whyte’s mandate and collections. Engage in the complete scope of event logistics including development, staffing, set up, take down, and delivery. Oversee rentals for museum grounds and Mason Hall, ensuring seamless experiences for clients. Collaborate with all museum departments to support programming initiatives and create meaningful engagement opportunities for our community.
