Town of Banff Banff, AB Full-time Town of Banff Banff, AB Job details Job type Full-time Location Banff, AB Full job description Full-Time, Term January – July 2025 The Banff Transfer Site Scale Attendant “Takes care of Banff” by ensuring the safe and smooth daily operation of the Banff Scale House. This position weighs and tracks all loads of recyclables and MSW entering and leaving the Town of Banff Transfer Site through scale software; directs incoming traffic; identifies types of materials; records and maintains transactions records of materials and customer accounts with billing information; perform cash handling and general labour duties. This position provides a high level of customer service and a diverse interaction with Banff business owners, residents, contractors, visitors and Town colleagues at the Banff Transfer Site. The Scale House Attendant primarily works inside the Scale House, processes daily transactions and performs various labor activities to maintain the site and ensure an efficient traffic flows. The identification of different yard materials and the data entry and word processing into various types of scale software requires careful attention to detail and application of procedures. Over time you will become responsible for participating in the implementation of the Town of Banff’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program. The OHS representative acts as a Resource Recovery representative on the Occupational Health Safety Committee. Grade 12 or General Educational Development plus minimum of 2 years of experience dealing with the public in a customer service capacity, performing data entry or word processing and cash handling experience. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software are an asset. Valid class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and valid First Aid Certificate and working knowledge of WHIMIS. An ability to communicate with the public in a courteous, friendly manner is required. The Resource Recovery department operates seven days a week, year-round and shifts may vary.
