Heavy Equipment Transit Technician (with CVIP) - Fleet


(Full-Time, Permanent)

The Town of Banff is looking for Heavy Equipment Transit Technicians (HET) with sound experience and in-the- pit skills who will “Take Care of Banff” by ensuring our regional ROAM transit buses (including state of the art electric buses) operate without interruption.
$51.00 per hour - for a fully certified red seal heavy equipment technician (HET)
Four 10-hour weekend shifts

This position requires an Alberta-journeyman (or equivalent red seal) and CVIP certification (or ability to acquire this certification within probation) but the Town of Banff will also consider those individuals who are currently completing an apprenticeship program with transit experience. You will be joining the Town of Banff Fleet team, where we are committed to working collaboratively and independently and ensure everyone is motivated and successful. In addition to the certifications required, you have a valid Alberta Class 3Q license, experience in equipment and vehicle repair and maintenance, knowledge of workplace safety programs and can produce a clear driver’s abstract and RCMP criminal background check.

The Town of Banff offers extensive traditional and non-traditional benefits including health & dental benefits, defined RRSP (8% employer contribution) or LAPP pension benefits and active living incentives. This position is based on 40 hours per week with varied schedules including weekend shifts and on–call services and the ability to work four 10-hour shifts giving you mid-weekdays off to explore Banff National Park all winter and summer. The Town of Banff also offers a number of non-traditional benefits such as discounted ski passes and bicycle tune-ups to encourage employees to be active and get outside!

The starting wage for this position will be based on experience and level of certification.
