Full job description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Thrift Store Associate to join our team. You will play a vital part in supporting the store's operations and enhancing the shopping experience for our customers. You will be responsible for assisting with sales, managing inventory, and ensuring that the store maintains a welcoming and organized environment. If you have a passion for retail and enjoy working in a team-oriented atmosphere, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service
Handle and supervise cash and debit transactions efficiently and accurately
Manage inventory by organizing donations, pricing items, and displaying for sale
Assist in merchandising displays to attract customers and promote sales
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and maintain cleanliness
Supervise volunteers or junior staff as required, providing training and support
Manage staff and volunteer schedules
Manage social media accounts and liaise with other Bow Valley social ventures
Qualifications

Previous experience in retail sales
Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in processing transactions
Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships
Experience in team management or supervising staff is a plus
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers and colleagues
A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and store organization
