Job Overview:
Moraine Lake Bus Company is adding an Operations Coordinator to our summer team. We provide scheduled bus service to visitors looking to explore Lake Louise & Moraine Lake in summer. We are a fast-growing company with an all-star team. looking for people who are ambitious and get after it.

You will be some of the boots on the ground responsible for the overall smooth operation and day-to-day management of our scheduled shuttle service. This role reports to our operations manager, and works closely with another operations coordinator and our lead driver. This role is a team-based role, and you will be interacting constantly with our rockstar driving team and sales team to ensure shuttles are departing frequently, on-time, and full.

You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, think on your feet type role, and not afraid of ambiguity. Your friends describe you as resourceful & competent. If we were in a 3-world jail cell and only had one call, we would call you.

You have a genuine appreciation for the Canadian Rockies and you know how to stoke this fire in our drivers. You love safely operating vehicles, you’re intimately familiar with HOS regulations and maintenance schedules, and you love teaching staff and the public about the beautiful place we call our office.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

Ensure all drivers deliver a safe and comfortable experience for guests from start to finish, including completion of pre-trip inspections and safe, attentive driving
Continually demonstrate excellent customer service to entire team
Ensure efficient delivery of scheduled itinerary
Properly operate all electronic technology applications on the bus, and teach other drivers how to do so
Attend, and occasionally lead, required training and staff meetings
Assist with maintenance schedules for buses, and ensure delivery of buses to/from mechanic as required
Assist with preparation of HR schedules, taking into account HOS regulations and driver preferences
Forecast visitor demand to ensure there are enough drivers to keep schedule running at all times
Move buses to and from Calgary, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise as required.
Assist with training of new drivers
Assist with 1-month reviews for new staff
Be second in line for emergency calls from sunrise crew, from as early as 3:00am, several days/week. Instances of calls are rare, but on-call availability is required.
Washing vehicles (as required)
Work 5 days/week
Generally be on-site in Lake Louise as much as possible through summer to assist drivers with issues as they arise. Shifts generally start and end in Lake Louise (i.e. driving time is not paid time)
Various other tasks that arise. E.g. Assisting our reservations team with customer phones and emails (infrequent), assisting our sales team with on-site ticket sales, covering breaks at our retail store, or many other tasks that come up through the season
Compensation & Benefits:

$65,000/year + Up to $10,000 end of summer bonus (details contained in employment contract)

Requirements

Experience:

Alberta Class 4 Operators License
Previous operations experience in tourism considered a strong asset
Previous driving and leadership experience considered an asset
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English
Customer service focused with an ability to work professionally with the public
Ability to manage staff in an efficient and friendly manner
Knowledge of the Bow Valley area considered an asset
Ability to handle stressful situations in a composed manner
A genuine appreciation for the Canadian Rockies, driving on scenic mountain highways, and sharing in the enthusiasm of guests from around the world
Other Requirements, Conditions:

Minimum 22 years of age
Must have reliable transportation to and from Lake Louise (a personal vehicle - public transit is not sufficient)
Driver’s license in good standing
Clean driving abstract
Must be able to legally work in Canada.
Must be able to pass criminal record check
Must be able to work schedule which includes evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and some early mornings
