What will you do in this job?:
Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, The Assistant Guest Experience Manager will be
responsible for managing day to day operations of the front desk, ticket booth, tour group desk
and cash control office at the Banff Gondola.
Support, coach, and ensure that each member of the Guest Experience team provides upbeat
and professional hospitality that ensures efficiency and a positive guest experience.
Leading the team to manage both arrival and departure of guests ensuring a world class
impression. Which includes improving lift line management, health and safety, cleanliness, and
overall guest experience.
Hiring, training, orientation, and elevation of the guest experience team.
Coordinate the schedules, breaks, development, and training for reporting colleagues working in
Lower Terminal
Ensuring all staff are knowledgeable, by providing each guest with the highest quality experience
and maximizing revenue through sales of our products and services.
Champion the sales of gondola packages, Pursuit Passes and other Pursuit products.
Ensure employees adhere to grooming standards and present and conduct themselves professionally.
Ensure smooth operation of the computer systems and arrange for repairs as needed.
Ensure cash security by enforcing policies and cash handling procedures.
Assist in overseeing the daily reconciliation of cash reports and applicable corrections and adjustments.
Collaborate closely with the Assistant Guest Experience Manager Summit Terminal
Working in conjunction with the other Departments in the Lower Terminal (Lifts, Food & Beverage, Retail, Photos) to ensure a positive guest experience and service standards are being met.
Maintain positive working relationships with our tour companies, suppliers, and internal and external partners.
Provide feedback to department heads as needed.
Manage the overall cleanliness of base terminal.
Lead guest communication, including any concerns.
Conduct, initiate and maintain superior safety and guest hospitality standards.
Demonstrate a calm and positive demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manage a smooth transition to keep operating at standard.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Proven leadership skills and a passion for coaching and developing employee skills.
Have a commitment to hospitality excellence.
Minimum 2 -3 years supervisor or management experience
Self-Starter and leads by example.
Effective communication skills
Organized with strong attention to detail.
Thrives in a fast paced, high-energy work environment.
Strong computer knowledge
Physical demands include constant use of hands, repetitive actions and speaking, sitting/standing for extended periods of time, frequent bending/twisting, working outdoors, and may lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
Second language an asset
First aid training and Health and Safety experience an asset
