Responsibilities:

The Museum Shop and Visitor Services Associate is responsible for maintaining the front of house daily operations on a daily basis. The Associate’s main priority is to engage directly with the public in a professional manner and must provide friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and quick customer service:

· Meet, greet, serve and process all guests in the front of house area in a professional manner;

· Accurately process cash transactions, balance end of shift cash outs and deposits;

· Remain informed about museum exhibitions, activities, events and programs, and remain current about general tourist information services and activities in this area;

· Knowledgeable on books and store inventory.

· Maintain cordial working relationships with all Department Employees, Museum Members and Volunteers;

Replenish visitor information communications materials in front of house and exhibit area;
Assist with admitting tour groups at front of house to maintain admission processing;
Must have local housing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Comfortable interacting and conversing with a wide variety of people and age groups;
Available to work assigned hours: up to 20 hours per week, 3 to 7 hour shifts;
Self-motivated and capable of working without supervision;
Competent written and verbal English communication skills;
Demonstrate knowledge of Windows based computer operations;
Demonstrate basic knowledge of the local Banff area and the Canadian Rockies;
Demonstrate ability to work with the public in a friendly and positive manner;
Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds
