Full Job Description
Banff Trail Riders is located in the townsite of Banff, offering guided horseback tours from 1 hour to 6 days. We are a very active tourist business with several components that make up the overall company. Because of the diversity of the company, we can offer a great variety of products to our visitors, as well as a variety of job opportunities.

Whether you are craving a summer of adventure, are looking to improve your horsemanship skills or a combination of both while making life long friends and memories, Banff Trail Riders is the place for you!

This position is ideal for persons who enjoy a challenge and take pride in a job well done. Packers must be able to work within a team, independently, be safety conscious at all times and have natural horsemanship and interpersonal skills.

This position will require you to:

Pack supplies and groceries on mule to and from backcountry locations.
Responsible for all maintenance required at trail head and in camp.
Work with/ride younger horses. Riding upwards to 8 hours a day.
Upkeep of farrier work for horse and mule string.
Hauling feed and trailering animals to trail head.
Interact with guests in a fun and professional manner.
Qualifications:

Horseback riding experience.
Packing experience preferred, but not mandatory. Training can be provided to the right candidate.
Must be physically fit and able to lift 70+ pounds.
Able to work within a team and independently.
Must have valid drivers license.
Farrier and Hauling experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Limited Staff Accommodation may be available upon request.

*This position will start within town and progress from there. Candidates for role of Packer are hired as wrangler/guide and are moved to packer based on performance, work ethic and assessment of fit for position once training concluded.*
