The Luggage Host reports into the Station Manager and is part of Rocky Mountaineer’s frontline team. This role is responsible for delivering guest service excellence and luggage handling services to ensure all guest luggage is safely organized for delivery/pick-up.

Key Areas of Accountability:

Responsible for the safe tagging, sorting, loading, unloading and delivery of guest luggage, along with general station maintenance.

Ensuring the safe and efficient loading, unloading and sorting of guest luggage at the station, hotels, and/or motor coaches;
Effective communication with luggage truck/motor coach drivers to coordinate luggage movement;
Communicating with RM partners and station management regarding guest luggage issues; and
Performing general cleaning and maintenance to maintain station and platform aesthetics in line with the RM “white glove clean” standard.
Provide world-class service to guests at the station and partner hotels in order to deliver on RM’s brand promise enabling the creation of life changing experiences for guests.

Greeting guests at station and/or hotels and answering guest questions
Assisting the Destination Host team with guest check-in and the tagging of guest luggage
Effectively communicating with the team, including proper use of radio communication;
Operating equipment as required for mobility challenged guests (e.g. wheelchair lift/wheelchairs/golf carts);
Providing service for special guest requirements as directed; and
Responding to irregular emergency operations under the direction of station management which could require motor coach travel to other locations.
Other duties as assigned to ensure effective station management.
Adhere to RM’s safety and security standards so that safety hazards and concerns are mitigated/reduced for RM guests, team members, and partners.

Compliance with all safety and security regulations.
Execute destinations safety and emergency response procedures and instructions.
Works with a safety-first mindset and encourages other to build a culture of safety at RM.
