Job Description

Toonie Tours is currently looking for Tour Guides to join our team and represent their local community in Banff, Alberta.

This position is for a freelance, contractor position and experience in a similar role is preferred. We are primarily hiring people who are available to work part-time, and often on weekends. The primary responsibility for this position is to lead a group of 10-30 customers on a highly entertaining and engaging tour of your community.

Toonie Tours embraces a performance-based compensation model to keep Tour Guides at the top of their game. We are looking for people who love Canada and know all about their communities!

Roles & Responsibilities

· Creative – Learn, research, design, and personalize tours and stories to be authentically presented.

· Leadership – Meet, welcome, and lead tour groups of 10-32 customers.

· Customer-Service – Provide local recommendations and tips for out-of-town travelers, and customers less familiar with your community.

· Be the local Toonie Tours Expert – Represent Toonie Tours, your community, and tour guides in general to the public. You are actively involved in your community and have that wanderlust spirit.

· Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Key Attributes

· Communicative and Social – Strong verbal communication skills, ability to present and speak loudly, personable, and approachable. We are looking for fluent English-speaking Tour Leaders and welcome additional languages (French, Spanish, German) to join our offerings.

· Entertaining and Positive – Exceptional story-telling skills, capture the attention of the group, and has a great sense of humor.

· Self-driven / Self-starter / High Performer – Works well in a performance-based compensation model. Is recommendable and commands 5-star reviews.

· Flexible & Confident – Adapts well to varying circumstances as the group needs change with the always-changing outdoor environment.

· Punctual – shows up early for every tour, without fail.

· Physically fit (can manage 5 km of walking in 2.5hrs, while speaking and presenting)

· Legally authorized to work in Canada

Pay: $16.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
