The Role:

As the Director of Banquets, you will be directly reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage and to the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. You will have oversight of our premium meeting and catering spaces. The role is accountable for the people, quality and financial results of the Banquets Division. The short-term focus will be on rebuilding the department to meet the high demand of summer and fall high season and raise Guest Feedback scores across the division. A strong background in high volume premium catering and food & beverage excellence is crucial for success. Job duties:

Leads by example by motivating employees and directing the organization of the 5 F&B
Engage team members to deliver picture-perfect results in guest and public areas, owning the banquet guest service and employee experience by monitoring and addressing the cleanliness and readiness of all areas and departments.
Oversee recruitment, staffing changes, and training within the department, hiring the right people for the right positions.
Ensure smooth operations and top service quality for all guests, managing the full cycle of event management from setup to service.
Attend pre-event and BEO meetings to understand group needs, set expectations, and communicate critical information to the Banquet Team.
Train and evaluate staff in accordance with company standards, providing real-time feedback on appearance, attitude, service delivery, and professionalism.
Analyze monthly financial results and guest feedback to create action plans for continuous improvement, addressing shortcomings and enhancing successes.
Coordinate closely with Sales, Front Office, Reservations, and Culinary departments to ensure seamless communication and meet clients' needs.
Ensure responsible beverage service and adherence to all food and alcohol regulations.
Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in food & beverage or banquets in a Hotel or related industry.
Proven sales performance experience in meeting and exceeding sales revenue goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Comfortable with technology and open to new learning.
Excellent eye for quality, cleanliness, and detail.
Ability to multi-task, produce accurate work against hard deadlines.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Due to the cyclical nature of the banquet operations, the Director of Banquets may be exposed to long shifts that include late hours, weekends, and holidays. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. The Director of Banquets will spend a lot of time on their feet, multitasking competing priorities, effectively dealing with confrontation from employees and guests and leading a culture of service excellence.
