What can you expect?
This role is essential in providing exceptional service to guests in our restaurants and during banquet events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create memorable experiences for our guests. Bartenders work under the supervision of the F&B Supervisor and Manager, or designate, and closely with all culinary and distribution departments at Sunshine.

1. Drink Preparation and Service:
Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and efficiency.
Create and suggest innovative cocktails and drink specials, ensuring they align with guest preferences and seasonal trends.
Maintain a well-stocked bar, including inventory management of spirits, garnishes, and supplies.
2. Guest Interaction:
Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and ensuring a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
Offer drink recommendations and answer any questions regarding the beverage menu.
Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
3. Bar Operations:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, and equipment.
Follow all opening and closing procedures, ensuring the bar is ready for service at the start of each shift and properly secured at the end.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of bar areas for banquet events, ensuring all requirements are met.
4. Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all local and provincial alcohol service regulations, ensuring responsible serving practices.
Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of beverages and glassware.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and take appropriate action if needed to ensure guest safety.
5. Team Collaboration:
Work closely with kitchen staff and other members of the food and beverage team to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about menu changes, promotions, and hotel events.
Support colleagues during busy periods and provide assistance as needed to maintain smooth operations.
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities

Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.
Completing all training documentation.
May assist with ordering supplies and monitoring inventory.

Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

And you have:
Proven experience as a Bartender in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or hotel environment.
Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail preparation, and beverage trends.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems for order taking and payment processing.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Certification in ProServe is required.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or bartending is a plus.
Additional Considerations:
Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position works at high altitude and at times, in inclement weather. Prolonged periods of standing, repetitive motions, bending and twisting is required.

This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
