Job Summary

As an Adventure Guide, you will play a pivotal role in leading and facilitating outdoor activities for individuals and groups. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for all participants. You will utilize your expertise in outdoor skills and customer service to create memorable adventures while fostering a love for nature and exploration.

Join us starting as on-call casual in April with the opportunity to be Part-Time over the summer season (May-Sept). In-house training provided.

We are looking to hire two positions, a Banff based guide and a Canmore based guide for On-Call/Part-Time work from April-Oct. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity for Part-Time/Full-Time work over the summer.

Duties

Lead groups on fun outdoor adventure, including walking and hiking tours.
Educate participants about safety protocols, environmental conservation, and local wildlife.
Communicate effectively with participants to ensure their needs are met and questions are answered.
Manage group dynamics by demonstrating strong leadership skills and promoting teamwork.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing concerns and enhancing the overall experience of guests.
Utilize time management skills to plan and execute activities efficiently while adhering to schedules.
Conduct public speaking engagements to inform participants about the itinerary and safety measures.
Maintain equipment and ensure all gear is in safe working condition before each outing.
Skills

Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse groups.
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging with a wider audience.
Strong leadership qualities to inspire confidence in participants during activities.
Customer service orientation to enhance guest satisfaction throughout their adventure experience.
Effective time management skills to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities during excursions.
Public speaking proficiency for leading discussions and presentations related to outdoor activities and safety education.
Requirements for On-Call / Part-time Seasonal Work April 7th-Oct 27th:

Own reliable vehicle (Willing to obtain Class 4 License)
Own accommodation in Canmore
Standard First Aid (Willing to obtain Wilderness First Aid First Aid - In-house training available)
Willing to Obtain OCC Field Leader & Maps Course - In-house training available)
Knowledge of the area / wildlife / Proven outdoor leadership experience
