We're looking for an Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and brings strong, inspiring leadership to our crew.Position OverviewThe Operations Manager supports and reports to the General Manager (a.k.a. the "Captain" of Moxy). This role oversees the Welcome Desk, Moxy's signature concept that blends the bar and front desk into one lively social hub.
You'll ensure smooth operations across all hotel departments, develop and support crew members, maintain brand standards, and help deliver the uniquely engaging and spirited Moxy experience our guests love.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
Assist the General Manager with daily operations and oversight of all hotel departments.
Support operational planning and act as Manager-on-Duty as needed.
Oversee the Welcome Desk team to ensure standout guest interactions at both the bar and front desk.
Maintain the Moxy service style-energetic, welcoming, and guest-focused.
Collaborate with Housekeeping, FoodBeverage, and Maintenance teams to ensure quality and efficiency.
Uphold all health, safety, and brand standards.
Welcome Desk (Bar + Front Desk) Oversight
Lead, schedule, and support the Welcome Desk crew to ensure smooth service flow.
Oversee bar operations including training, product knowledge, cash controls, and liquor compliance.
Foster a lively, social lobby atmosphere aligned with Moxy brand culture. Ensuring the daily, weekly, monthly activations are done successfully.
Resolve guest issues and operational challenges promptly and effectively.
Team ManagementDevelopment
Recruit, train, coach, and performance-manage crew members across departments.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic team culture.
Support strong communication through regular team meetings and updates.
Guest Experience
Champion personalized service and quick, effective problem resolution.
Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and satisfaction metrics; identify and act on opportunities for improvement.
Lead by example in creating an engaging and welcoming lobby experience.
FinancialAdministrative
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Ensure proper cash handling at the Welcome Desk/bar.
Manage inventory for bar, supplies, and operational materials.
Contribute to revenue generation through upselling and other strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
2+ years of hotel operations experience, ideally in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
Experience in both front-office and bar/restaurant environments is an asset.
Previous Marriott experience and familiarity with Marriott systems (e.g., PMS, POS, MGS, GXP) are strong assets.
Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, social, guest-focused environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
