Job Description

As Staff Housing Maintenance, you ensure our employee community has safe, well-maintained, and comfortable homes. In this hybrid, hands-on, and highly independent role, you combine technical maintenance expertise with strong coordination, planning, and problem-solving abilities. You take ownership of housing operations, respond confidently to urgent issues, and bring clarity and structure to a dynamic environment.


This role is rooted in critical thinking, independence, and steady task focus. You thrive when solving problems directly, calmly, and with minimal supervision. Whether repairing, inspecting, prioritizing requests, or planning preventative programs, you work with quiet confidence, ensuring our Heartists feel supported, safe, and cared for at home.


Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations & Technical Work

Perform hands-on building maintenance, including basic plumbing, mechanical tasks, general repairs, and seasonal work such as snow and ice removal using power equipment.
Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance calls, including issues such as heat loss, power outages, water leaks, or other urgent situations.
Complete preventative maintenance tasks accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
Ensure all equipment and tools are operated safely and maintained in safe working condition.

Coordination, Scheduling & Oversight

Review, prioritize, assign, and follow up on all maintenance requests to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption.
Coordinate and schedule contractors or internal support as needed.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with housing and safety standards.

Safety, Compliance & Reporting

Follow all Rimrock safety, sanitation, and vehicle-handling policies.
Complete required documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance records with accuracy.
Operate hotel vehicles responsibly and in accordance with established policy.
Maintain safe working conditions for both yourself and residents, including work in restricted spaces and varied weather environments.

Resident Service & Housing Support

Provide professional, knowledgeable, and friendly service to all residents and colleagues.
Uphold all housing policies, procedures, and service standards.
Communicate clearly, factually, and directly when addressing housing concerns, expectations, or maintenance outcomes.
Support general housing operations through additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Bring


Education & Certifications

Valid Alberta Driver’s License (required).
Technical or trade school certification (asset).
High school diploma or equivalent.

Maintenance & Technical Skills

Proven maintenance experience in a residential, facilities, or hospitality setting.
Hands-on abilities across general repairs, basic plumbing, mechanical troubleshooting, and building systems.
Experience coordinating maintenance activities, work orders, and inspection processes.
Comfortable performing seasonal outdoor work and operating snowplows or other power equipment.

Technology Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience using ticketing, maintenance, or asset-management systems (asset).

Physical Demands

Sitting/crawling: 2–4 hrs/day

Bending/reaching: 4–8 hrs/day
Pushing/pulling: 4–8 hrs/day
Lift up to 20–25 kg; frequent ladder use required
Work in restricted spaces
Indoor/outdoor work in variable weather (snow, cold, heat, rain)
Busy, fast-paced environment within a luxury hotel housing setting

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
