Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aid/Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities and care. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for clients, including those with disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. This position requires a nurturing attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in various settings such as home care, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Aid in meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
Support individuals with disabilities by facilitating their participation in community activities.
Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Provide meaningful engagement through creative programs such as art, music, poetry and dance.
Provide physical activities such as structured exercise and walking.
Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of dementia care and senior care practices is highly desirable.
Experience working with persons with disabilities is a plus.
Ability to perform light cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a safe environment for clients.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Must be able to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
Willingness to learn.
