Accounting Administrator (part time)


The Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission (BVRTSC) brings mobility to both visitors and residents looking to enjoy the Bow Valley without the use of a private vehicle. As Accounting Administrator for Roam Transit, you will report to the Director of Finance and Administration. This role will be part time, working 21 hours per week across three days, and will collaborate with the Accounting Generalist to manage various aspects of accounting.


Position Summary:


This position supports day-to-day financial operations, including payroll administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recording for all ticket sales, and bank and credit card reconciliations. The role ensures compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, and will be located at our 1021 Railway Ave office in Canmore, and our

221 Beaver Street office in Banff.


Responsibilities:


Assisting with day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, record keeping, cash handling.
Entering accounts payable invoices.
Entering credit card expenses.
Entering daily/weekly sales for all ticket purchase avenues.
Managing the QuickBooks banking feed for all reconcilable accounts.
Weekly/bi-weekly farebox cash deposit preparation.
Weekly bank deposits
Communicating with stakeholders, contractors, vendors.
Assisting with various accounting projects as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Experience:


Minimum of 2 years of accounting/finance, and bookkeeping experience.
Minimum of 2 years directly related administrative experience in an office environment.
Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other Microsoft office applications.
Strong background in working with numbers, statistics, and management of data.
Experience in the public sector is considered an asset.
Public transit or transportation experience is considered an asset.
Qualifications:


Education (minimum):


High school diploma or G.E.D.
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field, including completion of an accounting or bookkeeping diploma from an accredited institution; a combination of education and work experience will also be considered.

Knowledge of general office organization and proficiency in the operation of all related office equipment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Other Requirements, Conditions:


Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Must pass police security clearance.
Must be a resident of the Bow Valley Area.
