Job Description

The Golf Guest Service Supervisor will be responsible for working closely with the Golf Guest Service Manager to ensure the day to day successful operation of the golf guest service department of the golf division. The Golf Guest Service Supervisor will be responsible for leading the day to day functioning while working in the guest service golf operation to ensure the successful operation of the golf guest service department. The successful candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and is comfortable making quick and creative decisions, and exceeding guest expectations while demonstrating a high level of responsibility for their own actions.

Starting Rate: $22.40 per hour.

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Golf Guest Service Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
Provide leadership, training and guidance with the direction of the Golf Guest Service Manager to the golf guest service associates in the retail department and ensure opening and closing duties are completed efficiently using guidance from the training manual.
Ensure guest experience occurs as drawn up, trained and expected
Ensure colleagues are in accordance with grooming standards (including appropriate uniform) and performance expectations and discipline or recognize appropriately.
Own the flow of play, point, bag drop, starter, ambassador, departure, range and cart functions and on-course experience (look/feel, pace of play, beverage cart execution/experience, signage, safety).
Ensure operations are set-up consistently each day and ready for opening on time and closed each night in a safe and secure manner.
Under the direction and guidance of the Golf Guest Service Manager, Golf Guest Service Supervisors will be responsible day of to Ensure events are set-up and executed as outlined in GEOs (Golf Event Orders)
Liaise with the Tournament Coordinator on event days to make sure all areas are set up for the event
With guidance from the Golf Guest Service Manager making sure the guest service department and retail experience of our members and guests. (look, feel, timeliness of service, execution, signage and safety).
Make sure all areas of guest services have enough coverage to preform daily duties (point, bag drop, range, carts, departures, starter and ambassador)
Daily recording of guest issues, golf cart damage/performance issues, and provided every evening to management in a detailed pass-on.
Manage day of labor needs reducing shifts as business dictates.
On-going training of colleagues throughout the season along with weekly audits with the direction of the Golf Guest Service Manager
Ensure operation areas are kept clean and safe at all times.
Working with the Golf Retail Manager help roll out all staff incentives and focus on staff appreciation
Identify any perceived deficiencies or opportunities in our processes and standards and bring to the attention of the Golf Guest Service Manager.
Provide exceptional guest resolution
Ensure opening and closing duties (Checklists) are carried out each and every day
Perform daily line-ups with staff and ensure key Daily Birdie information and GEOs for the day are shared
Assist retail with golf club rental demands on busy days
Liaise with Turf leaders for on-course problems or issues and attend daily morning deck meeting with Turf.
Oversee the execution of inclement weather and wildlife policies when these situations arise.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

Business Degree or Diploma in a recognized Professional Golf Management program is an asset.
CPGA designation is an asset.
Previous experience in a similar role in the golf business.
Valid Driver’s Licenses and updated drivers abstract
Able to work flexible hours (early morning, evening and occasional split shifts)
Proficient in computer Programs (Microsoft Word and Excel, Reservation and POS systems). Previous use of the Golf Concept software program is an asset.
Proven capability and experience with Human Resource Management
Excellent written and verbal skills with a high attention to detail required
Ability to deal with high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment
Solutions-orientated, strong interpersonal skills and problem solving techniques
Highly motivated, career-minded team player who is guest driven with a passion to continually exceed expectations and anticipate needs
Proactive with a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple functions
Previous work experience at Fairmont is an asset.
