Welcome! Banff Park Lodge Collection operates 3 hotel properties - Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge, and Peaks Hotel & Suites. We also operate 2 restaurants - La Terrazza and Crave Mountain Grill. Staff and guests enjoy our ideal location, close to lively downtown Banff on one side and the peaceful Bow River pathway on the other.

COMING SOON - We are thrilled to also introduce our Moon Crest Cafe!

Located within the Banff Park Lodge, Moon Crest Cafe is dedicated to delivering high-quality espresso, fresh quick-bites, and warm hospitality to hotel guests and visitors exploring the Rockies.

We are seeking passionate, detail-oriented Cafe Attendants to join our opening team this October.

THE ROLE

Thank you for your interest in joining our team as Moon Crest Cafe Attendant!

Role Summary

As a Cafe Attendant, you are the face of Moon Crest Cafe. You will prepare quality coffee beverages, assemble fresh food items, operate the point-of-sale system, and help ensure every guest receives efficient, friendly service in a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Barista Duties -

Craft a full menu of espresso-based hot and cold beverages following established recipes, quality standards, and milk-steaming techniques.
Maintain speed, consistency, and quality of service during peak hours.
Monitor beverage quality and communicate any equipment or product concerns to a supervisor.
Food Preparation -

Prepare and package fresh food items, including sandwiches, pastries, and grab-and-go offerings.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and product handling standards.
Ensure display items are fresh, well-presented, and properly rotated.
Cash Handling and POS

Accurately process guest transactions, including cash, credit, debit, and room charges.
Operate the Simphony POS system with accuracy and professionalism.
Maintain balanced cash drawers at the end of each shift.
Customer Service

Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming cafe experience.
Answer questions about menu offerings and provide recommendations when needed.
Handle guest inquiries and concerns professionally.
Cafe Cleaning and Maintenance

Maintain clean prep stations, dining tables, and display counters throughout the shift.
Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
Restock supplies and assist with inventory rotation as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience as a barista is required, strong understanding of the full espresso-making process is an asset.
Knowledge of grind settings, espresso extraction, and milk texturing is preferred.
Experience using point-of-sale systems and handling payments accurately.
Working knowledge of food safety protocols.
ProServe liquor license to serve alcoholic canned products.
Food Safety Certification is an asset.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Flexible schedule and available to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
