What will be your daily pursuit?:
Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance plan to ensure smooth operation of both front and back of house areas.

This is a full-time, permanent role - working a standard 40-hour workweek.
What will your compensation be?:
The starting salary for this position is $22.50.

What will you do in this job?:
Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance plan to ensure smooth operation of both front and back of house areas.
Manage the Maintenance Department to meet hotel and departmental objectives
Handle financial tasks such as invoicing, monitoring accounts receivable, budget tracking, payroll, purchase orders, and recording all POMEC expenses in both hard and soft copy
Organize and maintain general office files, including job and vendor records
Conduct monthly expense verification and reconciliation
Handle administrative duties like answering calls, responding to emails, and preparing various documents including correspondence, memos, resumes, and presentations
Supervise the Hotel's Energy Management system and direct maintenance staff in mechanical and physical plant operation and upkeep
Ensure timely response to maintenance requests from guests, employees, and management
Oversee departmental health, safety, WHMIS training programs, and ensure compliance with WCB regulations. Also, serve as a key member of the Hotel's emergency response team
Participate actively in various committees and contribute to overall hotel operations
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for services such as elevator maintenance, refrigeration, and waste disposal. Also, manage supplier sourcing and purchase order preparation
Ensure the hotel's compliance with municipal, provincial, federal, and Parks regulations regarding operational functions, fire safety programs, etc.
Lead and support a diverse maintenance team covering areas like general maintenance, HVAC, kitchen repairs, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and groundskeeping
Represent the Maintenance department in meetings and act as a substitute for the assistant manager and director during their absences
Be available to respond during emergency situations
Implement and manage the hotel's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Organize monthly team meetings and quarterly team outings
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Minimum of 2 years' supervisory/leadership/project management experience, preferably in the hospitality sector
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible, and to work well under pressure, strong level of initiative required
Must be computer literate and familiarization with computerized maintenance systems is an asset
Hours of work and days off will vary according to business demands
Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external personnel
Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting
