As an avid aquatic professional, you transfer that passion into the delivery of a wide range of aquatic programs including public swimming and swim lessons that provide opportunities to further healthy lifestyles and personal well-being for residents of Banff. Join the vibrant team at the Town of Banff where we're eagerly seeking individuals to fill two exciting roles: one Part-Time position and two Casual positions.

This position is currently contracted to December 31, 2025 in accordance with the Town of Banff’s agreement with Sally Borden Fitness and Recreation. In the event the agreement is extended, there is potential for this term agreement to be extended as well. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Deliver aquatic programs at the Sally Borden Pool that includes, lifeguarding public swims and swim lesson instruction. 
Perform routine cleaning, equipment maintenance and site inspections and rectify or report any hazards or concerns in a timely manner.
Provide first aid and respond to emergencies in a professional and timely manner. 
Lifeguard in accordance with established legislation, procedures and provincial guidance. 
Maintain professional communication with facility partners and community members and ensure policies and procedures adhered to.
Certifications & Experience:

National Lifeguard (Pool) - Lifesaving Society
Standard/Intermediate First Aid & CPR/AED level C – Any OHS approved
Swim Instructor - Lifesaving Society 
This is a requirement for the Part-Time position and is considered an asset for the Casual positions. 
Lifeguard and Swim Instruction experience (preferred)
RCMP background check with vulnerable sector clearance

Hourly Rate of Pay: Starts at $27.74 with and additional $1.00 per hour for instructional time.

Work Schedule: 

Part-Time: the successful candidate can expect up to 26 hours per week and a consistent weekly schedule with minor fluctuations. Shifts can be expected on weekends and evenings.
Casual: will help to cover shifts in times of sickness, vacation or when additional staffing is needed for certain programs.
Anticipated Position Start Date: beginning of September.
