Job Description

At Fairmont Banff Springs, our engaging service and delicious cuisine make every special event a truly memorable affair, both within our distinctive surroundings and off-site. Be an ambassador for our exceptional offerings as Conference Service & Catering Manager, where you will liaise between multiple departments to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of your clients.

Starting Rate: $22.71 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $29.94.

Job Duties Include:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Conference Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Main Focus: assist planners and clients on the floor with requests in the day to day operation, shipping details, phone setup, extra liason between CSM, Encore AV, Events team
Assist the wedding CSM’s with wedding patrol and on wedding days with additional requests
Update CSM with any last minute requests or changes
Establish and maintain rapport with clients, during conference
Create floor plans as appropriate for each event to ensure banquets and clients are in agreement prior to set up
Other duties as assigned which will include supporting in administrative duties, floorplans, wedding inbox review and reply

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications required, experience with Sales & Catering or PM software is preferred
Previous experience in a luxury hotel operations in Conference Services or Sales or Banquets is preferred
Previous experience in Event Planning is preferred
University/College degree/diploma in a related discipline preferred
Highly responsible & reliable, ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, while remaining calm and courteous at all times
Results oriented with the ability to be flexible, work under pressure and be accountable to make sound & thoughtful business decisions
Extremely well organized individual with the aptitude to handle numerous tasks at one time
Proactive and innovate with the ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Systematic problem solver with a strong eye for detail, a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize
