As a member of the Streets department, you “Take Care of Banff” by ensuring the tasks and maintenance of our streets keeps them clear and in a safe condition, particularly during the winter months.

Your mental resilience is demonstrated in your ability to work and concentrate in darkness, extreme weather conditions and on high activity streets while operating equipment. A team-first attitude is essential in helping the Streets team meet and exceed our service level agreements and expectations.

You can provide a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and clear Driver’s Abstract upon your first day of work. Preference will be given to candidates with Bobcat or Toolcat operating experience and safety program experience and valid first aid will be considered assets. Attributes of a sense of humour, team orientation, independence and attention to detail are included in the selection criteria as a part of our team’s key behaviours.

Working safely is a condition of employment at the Town of Banff. You will receive safety training and resources on the operation and use of power tools and light equipment to perform your duties. This position is based on 40 hours a week and operates seven days a week, with a specific schedule posted. You must be physically able to meet a number of demands such as lifting, standing, walking and tolerating extreme winter temperatures and weather conditions. As part of our internal responsibility system, all employees are accountable for adhering to Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Town of Banff safety protocols. The wage range for this position is $23.43 - $29.28 per hour.
