Full job description
Part-Time, 9-Month Term Contract
As a café cashier and prep cook you will primarily be responsible for taking customers orders at the café located in The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. This is a small café and you will therefore work in all facets of the operation including assisting with food preparation, bar service and more. This is a hands-on role where you enjoy working in the front and back of house and enjoy interacting with a team and our customers. You will get to serve many facility rental clients and community members including hockey tournaments, curling bonspiels, special events and more.

Position duties are designed to be successfully accomplished within the weekly hours and include;

Welcome customers and answer any questions they may have about menu items in a positive and friendly manner.
Take and process orders on the Point-of-Sale System, including accepting payments.
Prepping, cleaning, sanitizing and restocking work and dining areas and emptying waste receptacles.
Assisting the Café supervisor to keep the kitchen clean and orderly, washing cutler and dishes, etc. to ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
Assisting with food and beverage preparation including seasoning, measuring ingredients, packaging, boiling, cutting and chopping and occasionally preparing some dishes.
Supply, dispense and mix beverages, clean the bar areas and equipment, prepare the bar for service, take beverage orders and serve drinks.
Assist the supervisor with inventory management through inventory counts, labelling and/or reporting on low-quantity food and beverage items.

This position will be based on 10 – 20 hours per week and is primarily evenings and weekends. The wage range is between $20.00 and $23.00 per hour.
