What can you expect?

The Transportation Dispatcher maintains an efficient and professional communications system for the Resort’s Transportation Department, enhancing the user experience through coordinating the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of team members and guests. This role additionally acts as administrator for the department and works primarily out of the Banff Sunshine Transportation Center. The Transportation Dispatcher reports to the Transportation Supervisor or designate, and liaises closely with the entire department, other mountain operations departments, transportation users, contractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinating, organizing, and allocating transportation units e.g., pick ups/drops offs, fueling, cleaning.
Relaying information e.g., traffic, road conditions or changes, emergency procedures.
Controlling and monitoring radio communications.
Assist in training of team members e.g., bus hosts, drivers.
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:
Overseeing and maintaining timely completion of documentation e.g., dispatch logs, employee training requirements and checklists, inspections.
Assisting in timely and accurate incident/deficiencies reporting to appropriate departments/personnel.
Experience/Requirements
Positive, mature, and friendly attitude along with being neat, alert, punctual and dependable
Prepared to work flexible schedules e.g., weekends, holidays, nights, extended hours.
Prepared to work in all weather conditions e.g., appropriate footwear, layers, gloves.
Calm under pressure and patient.
Effective time management
Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid AB driver’s license and a clear driving record.
Good comprehension of computer programs e.g., Microsoft suite of products.
Able to work efficiently, safely, and independently without continuous supervision.
