Full job description
What will be your daily pursuit?:
he role of Manager, Nightrise and A/V Systems is term position from September 1 to April 30. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Manager, Nightrise and A/V Systems is responsible for the successful delivery of the Nightrise season as well as operation of The Banff Gondola’s ongoing audio, video, and lighting needs. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Nightrise
The Manager, Nightrise and A/V Systems is responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of the Nightrise experience. This includes both technical oversight and implementation of the interpretive plan.

Compensation:
$28-30 an hour
What will you do in this job?:
Nightrise
The Manager, Nightrise and A/V Systems is responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of the Nightrise experience. This includes both technical oversight and implementation of the interpretive plan.

Technical Oversight: The Manager, Nightrise and A/V Systems is responsible for the installation of the project, artistic integrity of the installation, and maintenance of the equipment. Once installed, they will oversee the successful day to day operation of the experience, plan the team’s schedule, foresee required maintenance, foster an engaged workforce, collaborate with auxiliary teams and work together with third party teams to provide a world class experience for our guests. Also responsible for the development of SOPs, manuals, effective pack-up and storage plans, unpack and re-integration plans.

Special Events (GEM) and Programming Activities
Manage and support the execution of all sound, light, and video requirements of Gondola programming (festivals, and special events) as well as client events (GEM activities such as weddings, conferences, or similar).

Upper Terminal Movie Theatre and Interpretive Floor Equipment
Manage and maintain all technical equipment on the Upper Terminal Interpretive Floor. Includes interactive touchscreen displays, lighting, and sound.

Facility Sound and Lighting Systems
Map, streamline, organize, and manage the disparate sound and lighting systems across Gondola facilities. Create manuals/SOPs and train colleagues as appropriate. Collaborate with management on a capital plan for ongoing maintenance and replacement of equipment.

Service Agreement with Field Service
Collaborate with Gondola leadership to establish and manage an appropriate ongoing service agreement with Field Service.

Monitors, Digital Screens, BrightSigns
Collaborate with the appropriate Gondola teams to maintain and manage content for all public-facing video monitors.

Sound, Light, and Video Equipment (Other)
Organize, store, and maintain all sound, light, and video equipment owned by the Gondola. Develop systems and processes for booking and use by Gondola departments.

Other Duties as Assigned
The Operations Manager will, at his discretion, assign other appropriate maintenance duties required for the Gondola to deliver world-class and unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Pursuit Banff Jasper Collection Support
Occasional redeployment to other Pursuit BJC properties to manage or support work relevant to the Technical Director’s skill set.

Responsible for the recruiting and training of the special event team
Ensure sufficient supplies spare parts are available and coordinate all equipment repairs
Supply and provide analysis for monthly and annual reporting to internal and third-party teams
Select and develop standardized processes and systems to ensure consistent quality
Develop and update standard operating procedures and training documents
Collaborate in the discussion for future enhancements and upgrades for the special event
Manage and provide feedback to the special event team
Create and complete daily and weekly walk through checklists
Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are being adhered to as per AHS guidelines
Complies with Pursuit Branded policies and procedures
Follows Pursuit pillars of employment and service
Flexible to work in various locations
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
5 years of experience with multimedia installations such as live shows, outdoor festivals, permanent installations etc. at least 5 years in a supervisory role
Excellent knowledge of IT systems, including operating system installation, maintenance systems, diagnostic software and hardware installation
Knowledge of networking systems (routing, sharing, network administration, IP, DNS, VPN etc.)
Knowledge of computer communication protocols and transport such as TCP/IP, UDP, OSC, LTC, MTC
Good knowledge of audio-visual distribution systems such as patch bays, video matrices, audio amplifiers, midi, sound controllers, DMX etc. as well as AV network protocols such as NDI, ArtNet, Dante, AVB etc.
Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on customer service
Experience in LED video calibration
Experience in video projector calibration
Strong understanding of lighting apparatus
Lighting console programming experience is an asset
Understanding of schematic drawings, install cabling etc.
Ability to resolve set maintenance issues
Experience in leading a delegating a team of colleagues
Excellent communication skills and proven leadership skills
