Eastlink is currently seeking a System Technician to join our team in Langdon, Alberta, with a rotation to Golden, British Columbia (Accommodation provided). The successful candidate is required to reside in or be willing to re-locate to this management area.

Responsibilities:
As a member of an experienced in-field technical team, the Service Technician will be responsible providing superior customer service to our customers through the identification, troubleshooting and correction of service problems in the outside plant for both forward and return path. This will include any faults found from the mainline through to the customer’s premises, which would impair the operation of Eastlink’s services. Committed to maintaining our outside plant network in a timely and effective way, you will work towards the ultimate goal of providing the superior services that Eastlink is known for.

Eastlink provides in-house technical and safety training as well as training on specific services and duties that will increase with experience to ensure you have the skills to succeed.

Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a professional, customer orientated individual who has strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude and enjoys working in a fast-paced customer facing work environment. You are a graduate of a recognized Electronics program. Relevant industry repair and maintenance experience is considered an asset. NCTI or SCTE training is considered an asset. Committed to fostering a safe work environment, you proactively demonstrate Occupational Health & Safety work safe practices. Able to travel throughout the region, you require a valid driver’s license coupled with a satisfactory driving record. As part of the recruitment process a drivers abstract, and criminal background check will be requested.

You also have the ability to do the following:
Work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, holidays and emergency situations.
Manually lift, push and pull up to 90 lbs.
Work in inclement weather conditions (including snow, rain & cold)
Kneel, crouch and work above shoulders on occasion.
Work safely aloft from a ladder, pole gaffs, or bucket truck near energized equipment and/or power lines.
