Convergint is currently recruiting for a team-oriented Industrial Utilities Lead to join their team at the Suncor Baseplant site in Fort McMurray.

** This will be a rotating shift (14/14) with local accommodations provided for the duration of your shift

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

Works with Coordinator & Supervisor to plan scope of work for exposing and repairing underground utilities piping systems.
Oversees scheduled work for daylighting of piping, excavation activities, dewatering services, sinking shoring boxes and backfilling.
Works with crew to identify leaks in potable, utility and fire water systems as well as other industrial piping systems.
Responsible for non-destructive and destructive testing and compaction testing.
Works with QA to develop job packages
Creates isometric drawings for repair scopes and submit to Engineering for approval
Performs repairs to HDPE piping and oversees fusion tech.
Works with procurement to purchase required materials and manages inventory.
Coordinates equipment rentals as needed.
Works with reliability Engineers to propose corrective solutions.
Leads daily toolbox talks and oversees the team on the customer site, including managing weekly working rotations to ensure all planned work is handled in a timely, efficient manner. Lead also participates in the field work when required.
Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
Presents a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and behaviour.
Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations.
What You’ll Need

Minimum of five years of previous relevant field experience required.
Significant experience working with underground utilities and civil construction is required
Ground disturbance level 2
Previous team leadership or management responsibility.
Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
Strong coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills. Actively seek ways in which to act as a role model and guide; develop and mentor others within the team.
Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Advanced organizational skills and the ability to keep tools and work area tidy.
Good computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Knowledge in SAP considered an asset.
Travel to and from jobsites is required. A valid driver’s license and abstract is required.
