Full job description
Ski Patroller – Winter 2024/25

Responsibilities:

Lots of skiing
First aid assessment, treatment, and transportation via toboggan or snowmobile
Daily and ongoing hazard assessment including trail crew tasks (e.g. fencing, shovelling)
Assisting with avalanche control missions
Patient care record keeping and incident investigation paperwork
Dispatcher duties including: Microsoft Office; phone, radio, handwritten communications
Emergency lift evacuation (working from heights)
Knowledge and application of the Alpine Responsibility Code
Includes working weekends, holidays, and nights
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Advanced skiing ability (black diamond moguls)
Valid 80-hour wilderness first aid certification or equivalent
Valid CPR or BLS certificate
High level of physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors for long hours in ski boots in all-weather conditions
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Driver’s License
Must be able to hear and speak clearly for communication using radios and phones
If applicable, must have a valid Working Holiday Visa
Assets:

PSIC or CSIA certifications
AST 1 or 2
CAA Level 1
Climbing and rope skills
Snowmobile operation
Previous ski patrol experience
Access to reliable transportation is required for some positions
Second language
