What will you do in this job?:
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper with the management and supervision of the housekeeping team. Fulfills role of Executive Housekeeper in their absence. Responsibilities include;

Supervises the cleanliness, maintenance and the general appearance of guest rooms and public areas as well as other areas designated (front/back) of the house.
Sees that all Housekeeping personnel are carrying out the duties assigned to them, as per standards of the company.
Close co-ordination between Front Office, Engineering, Food and Beverage as well as the Guest Relation regarding regular and especially irregular guest requests.
Training and maintaining standards of quality and service and productivity of the Housekeeping Department.
Accurate scheduling of periodical cleaning plans, etc.
Constant awareness of new cleaning machinery, cleaning chemicals and cleaning procedures arising on the market.
Supervises compliance of company policies and exercises performance management as needed.
Conducts guest room and public space inspections.
Assists the Executive Housekeeper with requests and purchases of all supplies related to Housekeeping and Laundry as well as the linen and uniforms.
Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, uniforms and linen.
Supervises and controls Lost and Found, maintains records and liaises with FD to return packages to clients.
Promotes teamwork within the department as well as a sense of fairness.
Ensure that all staff in the Housekeeping department know and understand safety procedures and effective reporting is maintained.
Ensures all staff has a safe environment within which to work and ensures all staff adopts safe working habits.
Monitors work performed by outside contractors and recommends scheduling (e.g. window cleaning, laundry contractors, room cleaning, etc.).
Maintains tracking record of room condition and informs maintenance of repairs to be completed.
Ensures all housekeeping staff is thoroughly familiar with the Hotel’s emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
Setting up and maintaining ongoing training programs in the department in conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper as well as People & Culture.
Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for field of responsibility.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader.
Able to perform with minimal direct supervision.
Minimum 5 years in a hotel housekeeping environment including supervision experience.
