(07) Sunshine Mountain Lodge - Assistant Manager

The Assistant Hotel Manager assures an outstanding guest experience by overseeing the daily operations of the hotel in conjunction with the Hotel Manager and with specific responsibility for front-of-house operations.

Essential Functions

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments ensuring guests’ needs are met and expectations exceeded
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the front desk including check-ins/outs, taking reservations, and answering guest queries in a friendly and professional manner.
Responsible for resolving guest concerns and complaints
Under the direction of the Hotel Manager ensure guest room inventories are effectively managed and participate in the company demand management program.
Ensure the accurate processing of guest accounts / revenues and credit information in accordance with company policies.
A proficient understanding of night audit procedures
Responsible for training team members in resort and reservations systems, cash-outs, hotel information as well as health and safety procedures. Maintaining up-to-date standards & training manuals.
Maintain timely and accurate payroll information
Provide coaching and conduct performance evaluations for all team members
Conduct daily inspections of guest service areas with an eye on cleanliness, ambiance, positive visual impact, service flow and health & safety standards.
Assume a general leadership role throughout the property and act as duty manager in the absence of the hotel manager including ensuring mountain coverage for days off.
Other duties as assigned including cross-utilization with the bell desk, night audit, and housekeeping departments as well as in the operation of hotel guest activities.
Experience / Requirements
Passion for providing outstanding guest experience
Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management preferred
2-3 years hotel front desk supervisory experience
Fluent English proficiency
Strong organization, planning, attention to detail, and time management skills
Ability to work to flexible schedule to include morning, evening and night shifts
Positive attitude with strong self-initiative, problem-solving and communication skills
Previous Microsoft Office and PMS (Maestro) experience
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy items
Provide a clean driver’s abstract and license prior to commencement of duties (Abstract cannot be any older than 30 days from start of employment);
Must be able to complete training and testing for on-hill tracked vehicles and snowmobile licenses
Valid First Aid and CPR is and asset.
