Our lodge is celebrated for its commitment to quality and guest satisfaction, making it a premier destination for travelers.

Joining our team is a one-of-a-kind experience in the Canadian Rockies. We are excited about creating life-long memories for our guests by sharing your passion and expertise. We offer an opportunity to live, work, and play in a remote wilderness lodge in Banff National Park, which sits 5,577 feet above sea level in a pristine sub-alpine forest. There’s no commute as we all live and work onsite, but you may have to dodge the occasional moose on your stroll to the office. The surrounding rugged peaks, valleys, and passes in the Bow Valley offer unparalleled back-country skiing, hiking, biking, and paddling.

Role Overview: The Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen's day-to-day operations, driving culinary excellence, and contributing to the creation of innovative, seasonal menus. Key Responsibilities:

Culinary Leadership: Assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to quality and service standards.
Team Management: Lead and develop the kitchen team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Menu Innovation: Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and execute seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients and culinary trends.
Sustainability Initiatives: Advocate for and implement sustainable practices in food sourcing, preparation, and waste management.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes meet the lodge’s rigorous standards for taste and presentation.
What We Offer:

Competitive Compensation: $27.00-$35.00 per hour, commensurate with your expertise and commitment.
Gratuity Benefits: Additional earnings through guest gratuities, potentially increasing your income by up to $4,000.
Health and Dental Benefits: Comprehensive coverage after 3 months.
On-site Housing: Is included as a benefit.
Supportive Team Environment: Be part of a vibrant community where your contributions are valued.
Career Development: Opportunities for skill enhancement and culinary innovation.
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies while working in a supportive and professional team committed to excellence.
Candidate Profile:

Experienced Leader: Proven experience in leading a kitchen and managing staff.
Culinary Expert: A deep passion for cooking, with a keen interest in local ingredients and culinary trends.
Effective Manager: Skilled in nurturing talent and fostering a positive work atmosphere.
Adaptable: Able to efficiently manage the kitchen in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and guest interactions.
Application Process: If you are ready to take on the challenge of leading our kitchen team and contributing significantly to our dining excellence, please submit your application with a resume and cover letter detailing your culinary experience and vision for Storm Mountain Lodge.
