Entry Level Raft Guide – Training Provided

Chinook Rafting is hiring one entry-level raft guide for the 2026 summer season. No rafting experience required. We provide training through our Raft Guide Scholarship Program.

What We Offer

$20 per hour starting wage
Increase to $21 per hour early in the season based on progress
Overtime paid after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week (whichever works in your favour)
Vacation pay (4%) at end of season
Consistent work with 30 – 55 hours per week until the end of the season (mid-September)
We will work together with you on your schedule, so you have time for the other things that matter in your life
Raft Guide Scholarship

Our scholarship is designed for motivated candidates who are:

new to rafting
eager to learn
physically active
strong team players
Through the scholarship:

We provide structured raft guide training starting with our training course (May 5-17)
Our intention is to hire the successful candidate into a guide role for the season
This is not a participation course.
Candidates must successfully complete training and achieve a Class 3 certification during the training course for employment.
WHAT WE DO

We offer half-day commercial white water rafting trips on the Kananaskis River (class 2/3) and the Horseshoe Canyon (class 3/4) between Banff and Calgary in Alberta, Canada. We keep raising our own bar on safety and customer service, and we work in a proactive and positive team.

OUR IDEAL RAFTING GUIDE

Willing to learn a new skill and to learn to work in a new team
Absolutely stoked about rafting
Has some excellent customer service skills
REQUIREMENTS

Current standard first aid (minimum 2-day course) and CPR certification. Advanced first aid (40 – 80 hours) would be preferred
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Alberta Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
Available May to mid September
Strong willingness to learn
