The Finance Coordinator “Takes Care of Banff” by performing a variety of accounting functions and budget-related activities, including general ledger and account reconciliations, grant reporting, budget preparation research and reporting. This position assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the Town’s financial data.

This new position will also support the collection and maintenance of benchmarking and key performance indicators to support analysis and decision making throughout the organization. You are open and adaptable to the possibility of revised job scope and duties as the position takes form and priorities are identified.

Key responsibilities of this position include traditional financial services to the organization, including reconciling general ledger and departmental accounts, preparing month-end GL and bank reconciliations, responding to credit inquiries on a monthly and annual basis. You are engaged and engaging as demonstrated by your quick action to pitch in where work priorities are required within your team or in response to co-workers’ needs across the organization.

You effectively respond to internal and external inquiries by blending your numerical skills with a solutions-oriented interpersonal style. You are confident helping or providing answers appropriate to the financial orientation of your customer.

You have a post-secondary diploma or certificate, with an accounting specialization, 1 to 3 years’ work experience in an entry-level accounting-related field (or a combination of education and experience), a strong knowledge and comfort with financial software applications, word processing, database, and spreadsheet maintenance. This position enables an independent individual to take a self-directed approach to work, while contributing to the success of the entire finance team.

The starting salary for this position is: $73,935/year. As a full-time position, you are eligible for group health as well as retirement benefits.
