What can you expect?
The Benefits Advisor will be the main liaison between employees and our benefit providers along with being the primary contact for Workers’ Compensation claims. In addition, this role will proactively coordinate and maintain company wellness programming. The Benefits Advisor reports to the Payroll Manager and works closely with the Human Resources and Health and Safety teams, corresponding at times with all departments at the Resort.

Key Responsibilities
Benefits
Administration of Group Benefits, Seasonal Accident Insurance, RRSP, wellness programs and EFAP. Working closely with employees processing enrolments/terminations and monitoring staff eligibility.
Leads the full cycle disability claim process, coordinating return-to-work.
Follow up with employees on leave regarding their return to work and requesting Records of Employment.
Ensure employee deductions are accurate and conduct regular audits.
Reconcile monthly billing for benefit carrier and deductions from payroll for data integrity and accuracy.
Analyse programs and provide recommendations at renewal to develop benefit materials.
Maintain knowledge of updated CRA regulations, benefit and WCB issues, and related legislation.
Workers’ Compensation
Effective WCB process management through a claim lifecycle.
Assisting with coordinating modified work and temporary work assignments.
Complete the Year End WCB process and respond to ongoing requests for information from WCB representatives.
Payroll
Assists with payroll activities to ensure pay data is compiled, processed, and reconciled.
Responding to requests on policy and procedures. Investigate and resolve pay-related enquiries.
Ensures efficient year-end reporting by preparing and filing T4’s.
Assists with the year-end financial audit as required.
Experience/Requirements
5+ years' experience in group benefits/WCB administration.
Certification as a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is an asset.
Experience using Dayforce HCM would be an asset.
Strong knowledge of current benefits/WCB legislation.
Effective time management, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
Self-motivated, solutions-oriented and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Meticulous attention to accuracy, detail, organization and confidentiality.
Detail oriented with the ability to work within tight, inflexible deadlines.
Advanced analytical, critical thinking and research skills with the ability to problem solve.
