Job Description

Role of captain server would be to support Event Managers when needed in assisting with small functions and opening/closing large functions. Captain server will be familiar with opening and closing duties, sending reports, effective operating procedures as well as an appropriate pass on. When Event Manager is not present, Captain Server will take the responsibility of leadership and work with team and clients to provide exceptional service.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Event Operations Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Direct specific events within the daily operations in over 78 000 square feet event space
Deliver clear and concise instructions to the Event team and effectively delegate tasks.
Coordinate with the Conference Services Team and Culinary to ensure timelines are met and dietary needs are covered.
Show flexibility and demonstrate great problem solving skills.
Be a creative voice of the Event Team by communicating constantly to the leaders and colleagues by using different tools to get the message across to everyone.
Other duties as assisgned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Must have Pro-Serve Certification.
Previous Food & Beverage leadership experience is an asset
2 years previous serving experience required.
Bartending, cash handling and previous Silverware point of sale system experience is required
Schedule flexibility, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, etc. for 3-12 hour shifts.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20lbs and be able to be on your feet for 8 hours or more
