POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Maintenance Technician you will be working alongside our Maintenance Manager to ensure the lodge grounds and facilities are kept to the highest standard. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, and someone who takes pride in the work they do. We are an 'off the grid' lodge surrounded by beautiful grounds, and a large amount of beautiful snow! Mostly working outside, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and be a part of an active, outdoors driven team.

You will be required to clean and maintain the Hot tub, wood fired sauna, as well as snow clearing, and undertake simple maintenance tasks around the lodge and hotel rooms. This role will sometimes be physically demanding, and will involve various tasks involving lifting, bending, twisting, turning and climbing. Carpentry, plumbing or electrical experience are assets, though not required.

Duties

Daily maintenance checklists
Daily hot tub water quality checks and cleaning
Starting and maintaining the fire for the woodfired sauna
Firewood collection and splitting from the grounds
Simple carpentry/plumbing tasks
Landscaping and gardening tasks
General lodge and hotel room maintenance
Assisting with occasional event/wedding setups and pack downs
QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in Maintenance or trades skills is an asset
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Solution based thinking
This position will include lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in the cold
Willingness to work flexible hours
Excellent teamwork skills
Strong Time management skills
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Starting Wage and Compensation:

$18 per hour
Hourly based share of Heather Mountain Lodge Tip Pool
Full time accommodations and 3 Meals per Day (7 days a week) provided during regular operating seasons - $12 per day. Housing is a shared room with 1 other employee and shared washroom with up to 4 employees
Pay back bonus of $25 per week at the end of the season for full completion of contract term
Term: June 7th 2023 to September 23rd 2023
